Please join us at the State House on January 29, 2020 for Mental Health Advocacy Day. Mental health advocates, community members, and organizations will be urging lawmakers about the importance to “Support Your Community ~ Invest in Mental Health”. The agenda includes activities that will be of interest for every mental health advocate and supporter including advocacy training, opportunities to interact with legislators, providing testimony and listening to personal stories of lived experience.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Mental health advocates, peers, family members, professionals, providers, community members and mental health stakeholders.
Testimony at key legislative committees – throughout the day

10:00 ~ Welcome Address from State Leaders (Room 11)

Attendees have the opportunity to share their lived experience story, poem, or other insights at the event. Each participant will have 3-5 minutes. Use the link above to guarantee your spot @ 11:00 a.m. in Room 11 at the State House.
ADVOCACY TRAINING BEFORE THE EVENT
- Vermont Care Partners will have a one-hour webinar on January 13th @ noon. The webinar will be recorded. Click here to register.

Opportunities of a co-sponsor include:
- Participate in scheduled conference calls to help make Advocacy Day a success
- Volunteer and participate the day of the event (if possible)
- Provide testimony as requested by the Legislative Committee Chairs (if applicable)
- Advertise Mental Health Advocacy Day with your membership/network and invite them to:
- Attend Mental Health Advocacy Day
- Schedule time to talk one-on-one with their legislators for breakfast and lunch
- Participate in Advocacy Training – morning of event
- Share their stories, insights, and/or poems
- Nominating an individual for the Community Advocate Award
- Sponsoring donations are welcome, but not required
